UFC Orlando – Stephen Thompson defeats Kevin Holland after a great war

In the main event of UFC Orlando, Stephen Thompson faced Kevin Holland in a fight between Americans in welterweight. At the Amway Center, ‘Wonderboy’ won following the abandonment of his opponent just before the 5th round.

Round 1 : Kevin Holland takes the center of the octagon. Standing, the two men trade in kicks… Swinging wide hooks, Holland manages to hit Stephen Thompson hardopen to the face.

Round 2 : Both fighters exchange hard blows, but Kevin Holland varies his strikes better. Stephen Thompson, with his high kicks, is precise.

Round 3 : With his kicks returned, ‘Wonderboy’ annoys Kevin Holland. The latter manages to place a few sequences, but no one can clearly take the advantage in this fight which takes place purely in striking.

Round 4 : With a high kick, Thompson hits Holland. This last, knocked out and backed into the cage, takes damage from his opponent. ‘Wonderboy’ takes the opportunity to drive the point home, and performs sequences that sends Holland to the mat.

Before the last round, Kevin Holland and his corner threw in the towel. The American, well started physically, seems to have injured his right hand and cannot resume.

Stephen Thompson therefore wins by TKO in the 4th round (5:00), and retains his 6th place in the standings welterweight of the UFC. At 39, he signs the 17th victory of his professional career.
