Faced with rude customers, the manager of a cafe decided to act in a rather original way.

Who would have thought that a “hello” or a “please” might impact the price of the drink purchased… Well, yes! The manager of a cafe in Preston, UK, decided to act on the lack of politeness from some customers, reports «The Mirror». Act in a rather original way, namely to lower the prices of certain drinks when a person addresses the waiter politely. Thus a tea can cost between five pounds (5.62 francs) and 1.90 pounds (2.14 francs) depending on the “magic words” used, as evidenced by the sign installed at its counter, also posted on Facebook.

“For me, the most important thing is to be able to come into my shop and be treated like a guest I would receive at my house. And it’s nice to be respected in the same way in return. […] I think it’s a good way to remind people of good manners, which unfortunately is sometimes necessary,” Usman Hussain told the British newspaper. “We’ve never had any problems with customers, but since there’s this sign, people are clearly more open and even laugh regarding it with us.”
