UK Military Surveillance Planes Over Gaza: Search for Hostages Held by Hamas

2023-12-03 16:59:00

London: British Ministry of Defense says UK military will use surveillance planes over Gaza to find hostages held by Hamas.

Britain did not say when military aircraft would begin patrolling over Gaza. But British minister Victoria Atkins told the BBC that the planes would not be part of the war and that the focus would be on finding the hostages.

Hamas has said it will release more prisoners only following the end of the war in Gaza following Israel withdrew from a ceasefire brokered by Qatar, Egypt and the United States.

The cease-fire under the Israel-Hamas agreement ended on December 1. After the cease-fire, Israel began heavy airstrikes in Gaza. 70 Israeli and 210 Palestinian prisoners were released as part of the ceasefire agreement.
