Ukrainian volunteers, without military experience, will be trained in the coming weeks in the United Kingdom, explains the British daily The Guardian. Their training, similar to that of British soldiers, will include weapons handling, first aid on the battlefield, patrol tactics and also the law of armed conflict. The government has purchased thousands of AK type assault rifles for this program to train Ukrainian soldiers in the weapons they will have at the front.
“This ambitious new training program is the next phase of the UK’s support to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in their fight once morest Russian aggression. Using the world-class expertise of the British military, we will help Ukraine rebuild its forces and step up its resistance as it defends its country’s sovereignty and its right to choose its own future,” said British Defense Minister Ben Wallace in front of the recruits.
