Joe Biden, president of the United States, has announced the sending of an aid package of another $325 million to Ukraine and adds that the first Abrams tanks will arrive in Ukraine next week.
Biden made this announcement in a meeting at the White House between members of his Government and the Ukrainian Government, headed by President Volodymyr Zelensky. This aid package does not include the ATACMS long-range missiles, which Ukraine has been insistently demanding for months and which the US has refused to provide for fear of provoking an escalation of war with Russia.
This package does contain weaponry to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses against Russian attacks, both now and during the upcoming winter season, when Russia could again attack critical infrastructure such as the electricity supply needed to keep homes heated.
Massive attack on several Ukrainian cities
Russia has once again massively attacked several Ukrainian regions, including Kiev, while its troops try to regain positions on the eastern front near the town of Andrivka, in order to prevent Ukraine from controlling a strategic highway.
At least six people were killed and nine others wounded in an attack on areas in the Kherson region controlled by Kiev forces in the south of the country, according to the head of the Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin.
Russia has begun its campaign of energy terror
The Prime Minister of Ukraine, Denis Shmigal, Russia has already begun its new campaign of energy terror with which it intends to attack Ukraine’s electrical and thermal infrastructure. In addition, he stated that they are prepared to offer the maximum possible protection to the aforementioned facilities in kyiv. After the missiles that Russia has launched against some regions of Ukraine, they have left at least 400 municipalities in the country without electricity.
