Ukrainian authorities released body-camera footage on Wednesday showing a police officer receiving radio warnings of incoming guided aerial bombs just moments before a deadly Russian double-tap strike flattened a humanitarian aid center in the southeastern Zaporizhzhia region, BBC reported.
The attack on the former school building in Komyshuvakha, which occurred on Monday as residents gathered to receive aid, has left the regional death toll at 40 people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the incident one of the deadliest civilian strikes of the nearly five-year-long war. According to Euronews.com, five people were initially rescued from the site, but Ukrainian officials warn that more than 50 individuals may still be trapped underneath the heavy debris.
Ukrinform noted that emergency and rescue operations have entered their third consecutive day in the frontline village. The Main Directorate of the National Police in the Zaporizhzhia region reported that 59 people remain listed as missing. Because many of the recovered bodies cannot be visually identified, specialized police teams from the Center for the Search for Persons Missing Under Special Circumstances are collecting biological samples from relatives for DNA profiling and comparative analysis.

The United Nations human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine stated the bombing likely violated international law.
Local authorities said that Russian drones were hampering the search for victims in Komyshuvakha, though regional administrators insisted operations would continue. The Zaporizhzhia regional administration declared three days of official mourning spanning November 3, 4, and 5.
Upcoming Diplomatic Talks in Abu Dhabi
The escalation follows the expiration of a short-lived truce over the weekend. Euronews.com reported that a ceasefire brokered by United States First Lady Melania Trump in the Kherson region last week had offered a brief glimmer of hope. Kyiv subsequently proposed extending and expanding that humanitarian pause, but Russian forces responded with widespread bombardments across multiple regions.
