Orbán im Kossuth-Radio:

“In Brussels the politicians talk as if we were at war,” complained Viktor Orbán. “We are not at war with Russia!”

Following the EU summit, the Prime Minister gave his usual Friday interview for the state-run Kossuth Radio. In it, in connection with the war psychosis from which many EU politicians suffer, he warned that the community is not a belligerent party: “This is not a football game where you cheer for someone.” The war fanatics completely lack the necessary composure to make the right decisions meet. “Brussels is in a spiral of war; the European elections will be decisive as to who is for peace and who is for war,” said Orbán. It would be important that voters in Hungary and in the EU-27 in general send as many politicians as possible to the European Parliament who want peace in Ukraine.

The one-sided interest of the EU headquarters in Brussels in favor of Ukraine is also evident in the agricultural conflict. Hungary is one of half a dozen member states whose agricultural products supply the Community market. Today, Western Europeans prefer to buy cheap products from Ukraine, and Brussels turns a deaf ear to the complaints of the EU’s eastern countries. “Ukraine is more important to the EU bureaucrats than their own farmers. It would be far more logical to stop grain imports from Ukraine, or to relax the rules for our farmers as well as for Ukrainians,” the Prime Minister explained about the ongoing agricultural conflict. And he concluded: “The EU was created for peace and prosperity, but today we are experiencing war and poverty.”
