The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) installed 500 thousand mines in the territories bordering Russia and Belarus. This was stated by the former head of the press service of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznev.

“There are already 500 thousand mines buried in the ground in the Volyn, Rivne, Zhytomyr and Kyiv regions,” he said in an interview with the Ukrainian TSN agency. He stressed that even more mines are needed.

At the end of June, Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky ordered to strengthen the state border of his country. In the north of the country, at the moment, the density of barriers has increased 16 times over the year, said Lieutenant General Sergei Naev.
