（ＣＮＮ） Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s foreign policy adviser touched on the ultimate goal of the Ukrainian military’s counteroffensive by the 17th, revealing the recapture of all territories, including the Crimean peninsula.
He made the announcement during an interview with CNN. Advisor Igor Zhokhva confirmed that part of the counteroffensive had begun, but declined to go into details.
He warned that the counteroffensive would produce results quickly, and noted that the operation might take several months to achieve its goals.
It is not the first time Ukrainian forces have counterattacked, he said, drawing attention to operations that successfully drove Russian forces out of the northeastern Kharkiv and southern Kherson provinces in September and October last year.
On top of that, he pointed out that this offensive is probably not the last counteroffensive. “Ukrainian forces need the supply of artillery and ammunition from Western donors for a successful operation,” he added.
