According to the Ukrainian intelligence service, the Russian army has meanwhile sent more soldiers to Ukraine. Some two hundred conscripts are said to have arrived from Russia’s Rostov region. For now, the Russian Defense Ministry is only talking about a strengthening of the Donetsk offensive, with new air and artillery strikes.
Attacks on Avdiivka, near Donetsk, and Vouhledar have been repelled, kyiv said.
Ukraine further reports that its soldiers are under pressure in Bakhmout, a bitterly contested city for six months. kyiv stresses, however, that although it is almost completely destroyed, it will not be abandoned.
