“Minister of Foreign Affairs Dmytro Kuleba, head of the Presidential Office Andriy Ermak and Minister of External Economy and Foreign Affairs of Hungary Peter Szijjártó began negotiations with the aim of normalizing Ukrainian-Hungarian relations,” the department said. Szijjártó also said that the parties are working to improve relations. The Minister hopes for a frank and constructive dialogue.
Negotiations are taking place in Uzhgorod. The parties will also discuss the preparations of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky.
Previously, the European Union threatened to undermine the Hungarian economy if it refused to agree on military assistance to Kyiv. Later, Hungarian Minister for EU Affairs Janos Boka clarified that the country would not change its opinion.
