Ukrainian President: Saudi Arabia plays an important role and we are ready to take cooperation with it to a new level
The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, arrived in Jeddah on Friday afternoon with a French plane that took off from Poland.
Today, Friday, Zelensky said that he will meet with the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, on his first visit to the Kingdom.
The Ukrainian president added that Saudi Arabia plays an important role, and that he is ready to take cooperation with it to a new level, and that his visit to Saudi Arabia will deal with issues, including cooperation in the field of energy.
He also stated after his arrival in Saudi Arabia that his priorities are to discuss the Ukrainian peace formula, to end the Russian war on his country, to protect Muslims in Ukraine, and to return political prisoners from Crimea, which was annexed by Russia.
Al-Arabiya and Al-Hadath sources reported earlier that the Ukrainian president had left on his way to attend the Arab summit in Saudi Arabia. The sources said Zelensky will then travel to the G7 meeting in Hiroshima, Japan, on a French government plane.

Zelensky will make his farthest trip from his country, as the leaders prepare To unveil new sanctions on Russia for its invasion. Oleksey Danilov, secretary of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, confirmed on national television that Zelensky would attend the summit.
“We were sure that our president would be where Ukraine needed it, in any part of the world, to solve the issue of stability of our country,” Danilov said Friday. “There will be important issues to be decided there, so physical presence is crucial for defending our interests.”
