UK’s highest price in 40 years… Bread or heating?

In the UK, food prices soared amid unprecedented high prices.

Energy prices soared as Russia cut its natural gas supply.

So, there are already grim prospects that British people will have to choose between bread or heating this winter.

‘It’s too high’

British people, impatient with the soaring energy prices, flocked to the streets.

“What do we want? Freeze rates.”

More than 170,000 people have signed up for refusing to pay electricity and gas bills altogether.

The maximum annual energy burden per household in the UK is £1,971, which is 3.13 million won in our money, up more than 50% from last year.

There is also a forecast that it will rise further next year, reaching 4,266 pounds, or 7 million won in Korean money.

UK consumer prices rose 10.1%, entering the 10% level for the first time in 40 years.

Food items such as bread, eggs and bacon have skyrocketed by as much as 40%, further straining the common people.

“When I go to the store, the price is different every day, you know? Some stores offer cheap prices, but the situation right now is terrible.”

In fact, according to a British Times survey, 1 in 6 adults said they had skipped a meal in the past 6 months to save money.

This winter, things could get even worse.

Concerns arise that you may have to choose between heating or meals.

There are warnings that if Russia further cuts natural gas supplies to Europe, a harsh winter like the whole of Europe will come.
