“Winter transfers are always difficult, I generally find it difficult as a German club to dig through the shelf we want to dig through. The goalkeeper market is generally complex, you can’t retrain someone. Ulle did well in the training camp, but we still have a duty to get another goalkeeper, regardless of whether he’s number 1 or 2. We have young talents, but it would be a complex situation to throw them in with no experience in the Bundesliga if Ulle were to drop out – especially in the second half of the season when everything is at stake.”
