How informs Anadolu agency, UN Secretary General’s spokesman Stephane Dujarric confirmed that the United Nations agreed to Turkey’s official request to change the spelling of the country in international documents.
He clarified that now the name of the country will be written not “Turkey”, but “Türkiye”.
“The changes come into force from the moment we receive a request from Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu,” Dujarric said.
