The United Nations reports that Palestinians continue to suffer human rights abuses by Israeli forces and occupiers in the West Bank.

From January 1 to December 27, 2023, 492 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces. Volker Turk, the head of the United Nations human rights body, called for an immediate end to the violence by the occupiers in the West Bank and to punish those who instigate and perpetrate the violence.

A report released by UNICEF on Thursday indicated that this was the deadliest year for children in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. 83 children have been killed in the last twelve weeks. This is more than double from last year. More than 576 people have been injured. The violence has increased since the violence that took place on October 7. One hundred and twenty-four Palestinian children and six Israeli children have been killed in conflict-related attacks alone.

UNICEF urged both parties to protect children from conflict-related violence in accordance with international human rights law and its obligations. UNICEF said that life is the most basic right and children should never be subjected to violence, no matter where they are.
