UN Security Council votes to end Mali operation – Mali

Bamako/New York – The UN Security Council has initiated an end to the mission in West African Mali. The mission should be ended following a transitional period of six months at the end of the year, the Council decided in a resolution on Friday in New York. Two members of the Austrian Armed Forces are currently stationed with the UN mission MINUSMA in Mali’s capital Bamako.
