Unauthorized online content: UAE public prosecution says it will take strict action

Abu Dhabi: The UAE Public Prosecution has warned that it will take stern action against those who collect and share illegal online content in the UAE. According to the UAE Public Prosecution, the suspects will be fined between Dh3 lakh (Rs 62.85 lakh) and Dh1 crore (Rs 20.95 crore).

Individuals who use a website or account to store such data will also be penalized. Authorities said action would be taken against those who refused to remove the illegal content in whole or in part.
