A medical office that practiced aesthetic medicine and sold medicines, botox and hyaluronic acid without authorization was closed today in the San Nicolás neighborhood by personnel from the Crimes against Health division of the city Police and the local justice charged the person responsible of the place for illegal sale of these products, in addition to kidnapping almost 400 boxes of medical substances.
This was reported today by the Public Prosecutor of the City of Buenos Aires (MPF) when indicating that after investigation tasks, it was detected that a person was illegally selling medicines through social networks and the place was identified as a medical office located in the Corrientes Avenue at 500.
During the inspection, it was detected that the place did not have the administrative authorization of the Buenos Aires Government, nor with the mandatory registration in the Ministry of Health of the Nation, in addition to detecting serious faults and irregularities related to safety and hygiene, reported a statement of the MPF.
There, 370 boxes of medicines and clinical substances that were illegally marketed, such as lidocaine, botox and hyaluronic acid, among others, were seized, and scientific expertise was ordered on the confiscated samples.
More than 250 medical records were also seized and the 11 Misdemeanor Criminal Prosecutor, Valeria Massaglia, charged the person responsible for the crime of supplying and marketing elements harmful to health and sale of medicinal substances without an authorizing prescription (arts. 201 and 204 of the Penal Code).
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health of the Nation established the immediate closure of the place.
The inspection was coordinated by the judicial investigation body of the MPF, the intervention of the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT) and the General Directorate of Environmental Control.
