Harfoush, who was not involved in any political or financial issue, but was and still is active in the field of combating corruption and terrorism and an advocate for human and women’s rights, is now banned from entering Lebanon under the threat of imprisonment without reason, and who knows what might happen behind bars.
It is shameful that Harfoush’s case is a temporary issue, and one cannot be silent about it. Rather, it is correct for it to turn into a public opinion case, where Mikati’s hatred of Harfush prevails only because he was on the lookout for him, and he succeeded in uncovering several files related to Mikati and his family.
Harfoush, who does not hold a passport other than the Lebanese one, is now prohibited from visiting his homeland, because Mikati wanted to do so out of foresight and determination, with the help of the Public Prosecutor of Cassation and the first investigative judge in Tripoli, Samaranda Nassar. It is worth noting that Harfush has no problem with appearing before the judiciary, but those involved in the attempt to harm Harfush refuse to give him the right to defend himself, and this in itself is considered a crime for which the law is held accountable.
Does Mikati think that Lebanon belongs to him, and that through his temporary position he can profit from the people of the country and threaten their lives and freedom? Do Lebanon’s judges accept their participation in this crime, and what motivates them to comply with Mikati’s orders?
To the Prime Minister, stop exploiting your influence for personal ends and interests, and let the judiciary work according to legal principles without resorting to immoral measures that you will pay for before international courts.
