Reasons for changing the shape of the vagina with age
1- Menopause
When a woman reaches menopause, estrogen levels decrease in her body, which leads to vaginal dryness, as a result of a lack of vaginal secretion production.
Vaginal dryness makes sexual intercourse a painful experience for women, as it makes it more difficult for the penis to penetrate the penis, so doctors recommend using sexual lubricants to reduce friction.
2- Weak pelvic muscles
The muscles in the pelvic floor area weaken after the cessation of the menstrual cycle in women, especially if the woman underwent natural childbirth more than once, which leads to the expansion and prolapse of the vagina.

3- Estrogen deficiency
The lack of estrogen after menopause causes another change in the shape of the vagina, making its tissues thinner and less elastic, as a result of a decrease in collagen in the skin.
4- Urinary tract infection
The vagina becomes more susceptible to UTIs with age, because the lack of estrogen in the body encourages bacteria to grow in the genitals, putting them at risk of atrophy.
