Men experience menopause just as women do, and this has a relative impact on sexual health, according to Dr. Heba Kotb, a marital relations consultant.

Qutb said in televised statements that menopause occurs for men at the age of 40, while women reach it in the mid-40s until 55 years.

The effect of male menopause on sexual health
The marital relations consultant explained that men, after reaching menopause, have lower levels of growth hormone and testosterone, which negatively affects the vital functions of the body, especially performance and sex drive.

She pointed out that it is easy for men to avoid the side effects of menopause on sexual health by practicing intimacy on a regular basis, at a rate ranging from two to three times a week.
And she confirmed that menopause in men has nothing to do with premature ejaculation, as some people think, explaining that stopping intimate relationships for a long time is one of the causes of infection.

The impact of women’s menopause on sexual health
Kotb denied the common belief among women that menopause negatively affects sexual desire or reduces women’s enjoyment of intimacy.

She revealed that the cessation of menstruation in women results only in the loss of the ability to have children, while sexual desire is not affected at all, stressing that women can enjoy intercourse after menopause.
