Corona virus variants continue to appear, specifically from the Omicron strain, as the newest variant has spread to several countries around the world, known as “Perula”.
Here are the symptoms of the newest Corona mutator, Perola, and is it different from its predecessors? According to the New York Times website.
Scientifically known as BA.2.86, the Perola mutant is a new version of Omicron.
Is it worrying?
The new mutant is worrying experts, because there are 35 mutations in its spinal protein, which is the part of the virus that Covid vaccines are designed to target.
Many of the Pyrola mutations also have unknown functions, but experts believe some of them help the virus escape the immune system.
how dangerous it is
The first cases of the Pyrola mutant appeared in Denmark, where experts from the Statens Serum Institute confirmed testing for the virus to assess whether it poses a threat, but stressed that there is currently no evidence that Pyrola causes more serious disease.
What about the symptoms?
According to virologists, the specific symptoms of the new variant have not been identified, as scientists are still analyzing recently discovered cases.
But since it stems from the Omicron dynasty, it may have some symptoms as follows:
Runny nose
sneeze
Headache
sore throat
Exhaustion and fatigue
fever
persistent cough
Is it different from its predecessors?
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the gene in Perola is “nearly the same size” as that seen between the initial Omicron variant and the Delta variant.
Experts emphasized the need for more studies and examination of infected cases to learn more about the new variant.
