There are several risk groups for infection

In Russia, during this epidemic season of colds, experts note frequent complaints of coughing, which does not stop for a very long time following ARVI. It lasts for weeks, or even months.

Sometimes whooping cough is diagnosed following ARVI, especially in children. But another reason emerged; infectious disease specialist Andrei Pozdnyakov spoke regarding it in a conversation with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.

The doctor said that mycoplasma infection causes such a long cough. This is a respiratory disease, it is not very contagious – only with prolonged close contact with a patient or carrier of the infection, if they sneeze and cough.

Therefore, children and adolescents are at risk in educational and preschool institutions. And also older people whose immune response is lower.
