A meta-analysis of more than 20,000 cancer survivors who received their diagnosis before the age of 25 shows: The psyche is permanently burdened by this experience. In the study, the lifetime risk was significantly increased, especially for depression and anxiety. In certain groups, after surviving the disease, the risk of suicide also increased.
