After the Vatican authorized in a note last December the blessing of couples considered “irregular” by the Catholic Church, many reservations and criticisms were heard. The document called “Fiducia supplicans” concerns in particular remarried people and same-sex couples. The African Catholic bishops expressed themselves on this novelty within the framework of a joint declaration.
