Unemployment increased slightly in mid-June – labor market

Vienna – The unemployment figures have hardly changed in the past two weeks, but there was an increase compared to the previous year. As of mid-June, 309,980 people were registered with the Public Employment Service (AMS) – 240,142 of them looking for a job, 69,838 in training, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on Tuesday. Year-on-year, the number of unemployed increased by 9,249. The Kika/Leiner bankruptcy, which will cost at least 1,900 jobs, will not hit until the end of July.
