José Alfredo “Pollo” Fuentes was one of the guests at the recent episode of We can talkalong with Bombo Fica, Blanquita Nieves and Javiera Naranjo.
During the conversation with the host Jean Philippe Cretton and the comedian, the prominent singer and television host declassified details of an “unforgettable” meeting he had with the late singer-songwriter Víctor Jara.
It all started when Bombo Fica asked Fuentes if he had met the artist.
“Yes, I mean, I had the pleasure of running into him one day on the street and he stopped me to talk. We talked for about 15 minutes that were unforgettable,” the New Wave singer began by saying.
“A loving, tender, friendly guy and like any person. I wanted to know what my life was like when people required my presence so much, little girls stopped to ask us for autographs. I wanted to investigate that a little. (He asked me) ‘But how do you do it?’” He added.
Given this, the comedian expressed that he was surprised to hear the anecdote. “It’s almost a gift, Víctor Jara is known in the world, there are squares, streets, we don’t understand what it means,” he said.
Fuentes stated that his meeting with the singer-songwriter was “spectacular.” “Also, later I knew that he wanted to record with me, Freddy Stock told me that he recently wrote a book related to his biography,” he revealed.
“We played baby soccer again, but I don’t remember that much,” Pollo Fuentes added.
