Unified social register: A ministerial meeting chaired by the Head of Government to speed up implementation

A return under the sign of the acceleration of the RSU. Indeed, the Head of Government, Mr. Aziz Akhannouch, chaired, on Wednesday August 24, 2022 in Rabat, a meeting devoted to the means of accelerating the deployment and implementation of the Unified Social Register.

This meeting was held in the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Mr. Abdelouafi Laftit, the Secretary General of the Government, Mr. Mohamed Hajoui, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Mrs. Nadia Fettah, the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Mr. Chakib Benmoussa, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Mr. Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and the Family, Ms. Aawatif Hayar, the Minister Delegate to the Head of Government in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ms. Ghita Mezzour, as well as the Director General of the National Social Security Fund, Mr. Hassan Boubrik, and the Director General of the National Health Insurance Agency, Mr. Khaled Lahlou.

The holding of this meeting reflects the government’s firm desire to accelerate the deployment of the Unified Social Register, as well as the latter’s monitoring mechanisms, as part of the implementation of the project to generalize social protection, in total compliance with the deadlines set by the Royal Instructions.

After recalling the High Royal Guidelines relating to the RSU, contained in the speech delivered by His Majesty the King, may God assist him, on the occasion of the Feast of the Throne, the Head of Government called on all the stakeholders to massive mobilization for the implementation of the RSU project, given that it is the most effective mechanism for targeting poor and vulnerable families. He added that the deployment of the unified social registry is an important practical step to improve the efficiency of social programs.

The Head of Government also stressed that the Unified Social Register is part of an integrated perspective for strengthening the foundations of the social State, including the completion of compulsory health coverage by 2022 and the generalization of family allowances to end of 2023.
