Experts from the various participating entities shed light on diseases resulting from neglect of oral and dental health, such as mouth ulcers, heart disease, diabetes, oral cancer, and pneumonia, as dental health is one of the basic indicators of public health safety, and neglecting oral and dental hygiene constitutes a societal problem. Therefore, Signal has provided systematic programs for more than 30 years in 40 countries, and we have been able to reach more than 100 million children since 1989.”

She pointed out that the awareness plan is in line with Unilever and Signal’s strategy, which is not limited to providing high-quality products only, but also playing a societal role to raise awareness on a large scale and consolidate common values. The company’s awareness plan is a continuation of Signal’s journey in partnership with the General Authority for Healthcare, UNICEF, the World Dental Federation (FDI), and the Egyptian Society of Dental Surgeons.

Tamer Mahmoud, a member of the Board of Directors of Unilever and head of Unilever’s personal care products marketing sector for North Africa, the Arab Levant and Iraq, said, “We aim for Signal’s message, which is the necessity of paying attention to oral and dental health, to reach the largest percentage at the level of all societal groups, as Signal aims to double its efforts.” To reach 20 million Egyptians with direct awareness messages in the various governorates, and we call on everyone to contribute to making a positive change, through ongoing initiatives and campaigns to discuss diseases resulting from lack of attention to oral health and neglecting to brush teeth with toothpaste on a regular and daily basis, and to encourage children to regularly brush teeth with brush and toothpaste. Daily.”

Jeremy Hopkins, UNICEF Representative in Egypt, noted, “It is important for us at UNICEF to prioritize children’s health and support them so that they have a strong and healthy start in life.” We believe that the best way to achieve this is to support government-led efforts and build strong partnerships with the private sector, such as the innovative partnership with Unilever, which aims to promote children’s rights and development. Children in Egypt constitute approximately 40% of the total population, and they have the right to protection and access to health services and proper nutrition. We are committed to paving the way for every child to achieve their full potential.”

Dr. confirmed. Nahoud Thabet, Member of the Supreme Council of the World Dental Federation, the Federation’s official for the continent of Africa: “The goal of the Federation is to raise awareness of oral and dental health and the diseases resulting from it and to train the dentist through continuing medical education, as we have been working with Signal on this since 2015 through convoys.” Today’s health programs for oral health are a continuation of our efforts with Signal with the aim of changing misconceptions and strengthening Egyptian society.”
