Unique Drone Method for Dismantling Explosive Objects in Donetsk: Sappers’ Techniques Revealed

Sappers of the “Southern” group of troops, which operates in the Donetsk direction, have mastered a unique method of destroying explosive objects at a distance.

As the press service of the Russian Ministry of Defense reported on its official resources the day before, the destruction of explosive finds is carried out using drones.

“The essence of the unique demining method is simple: a TNT charge with a fire-conducting tube is attached to the UAV release device, the length of which is calculated depending on the distance to the detected ammunition and the time required to remove the drone from the epicenter of the explosion,” the military department explained.

A mine clearance specialist with the call sign “Nikola” shared his practical experience.

“If it is a non-contact ammunition, then we increase the charge by 4-5 times and place it a meter away from it to produce a detonation with a shock wave. If the ammunition is contact, we put a charge on it and detonate it,” said the sapper.

Previously EADaily reported that according to the Ministry of Defense, the demining detachment of the engineering troops of the Russian Armed Forces since the beginning of the year has neutralized regarding 800 explosive objects on the territory of the DPR.
