United beat Liverpool in Bangkok

Bangkok – Manchester United played their first official match under the supervision of their new Dutch coach, Eric Ten Hag, and beat their traditional rivals Liverpool 4-0 on Tuesday in a friendly match in Bangkok.

Gadon Sancho (12), Brazilian Fred (30), Frenchman Anthony Martial (33) and Uruguayan Facundo Palestre (78) scored the goals.

Manchester United started the match with an almost complete squad, with the exception of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner did not travel with his teammates on Friday due to a “family problem”, according to his club, but the English press have been talking for weeks about his desire to move this summer.

On the other hand, the German coach of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp, included a young squad brimming with some experienced players, such as Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, team captain Jordan Henderson and Brazilian Firmino, who played in the center of the attack.

The Egyptian Liverpool star, Mohamed Salah, participated in the last half hour.

Manchester dominated most of the first half and managed to score three goals, opened by Sancho, who took advantage of a wrong distraction from a Liverpool defender to follow the ball out of Alison’s reach (12).

Then Fred added the second when he got the ball on the outskirts of the area, so Alisson saw it away from his goal and hit it in a falling manner (Loeb) with a large spear into the net (30).

Manchester United took advantage of the loss of young Liverpool players to add the third striker Martial when he was alone with the Brazilian goalkeeper and hit the ball over him (33).
