Félix Auger-Aliassime was upset in three identical sets 6-4 by Britain’s Jack Draper in the second round of the US Open.

Auger-Aliassime was sunk by his unforced errors when he committed 41 in the game against only 17 for his opponent. The Quebecer failed to convert just one of his three break opportunities while his rival broke him three times, once per set, in ten occasions.

In the next round, Draper will face Russia’s Karen Khachanov. It is the first time in his career that the 20-year-old tennis player has reached the third round of a Grand Slam tournament.

Last year Auger-Aliassime had a magnificent run, admitting defeat to Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals. A few days later, Medvedev took top honors ahead of Novak Djokovic.

Auger-Aliassime reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open in January, but failed in the round of 16 at Roland-Garros and in the first round at Wimbledon.
