Erik ten Hag has revealed United’s new striker Rasmus Hojlund has taken part in his first full training session with the first team.

The Dutchman broke the news ahead of the Premier League game against Nottingham Forest (3:00 p.m. BST).

Sadly, Hojlund is unavailable for this weekend’s game but Erik has delivered a positive update to the media which will have fans excited ahead of a busy few weeks for the Reds.

Ten Hag provides update on injured trio

“Today, for the first time, he took part in the training of the team”

explained the boss, when asked if Hojlund was close to entering the field.

“Next week we expect him to do a full week with all the team training. So he is very close to being part of the team.”

The Danish international still hasn’t played since leaving Italian club Atalanta.

Hojlund was introduced to the Old Trafford crowd ahead of the 3-1 pre-season win over Lens on August 5 but has failed to return to full fitness since, due to a reported back problem.

Marcus Rashford was the leader for the Reds in the first two weeks of the season, while Anthony Martial, Hojlund’s other centre-forward, is also working on his first in 2023/24.

Squad line-ups for United – Forest will be released at 14:00 BST on Saturday.
