The interim president Juan Guaidó celebrated this Monday victory in Barinas from the representative of the Democratic Unity Table, Sergio Garrido, and sent a message of unity to all sectors to put an end to the crisis facing Venezuela.

“Yesterday, Barinas gave a lesson to all Venezuelans. To the dictatorship, mainly. Resistance, courage, focus, unity. Detachment by the leadership of Barinas. Of humility on the part of the one who led this process, Sergio Garrido. Far from arrogance and egos, unity is what democracy is going to recover in Venezuela, “he said in a Press conference.

Guaidó stressed that the work in unity to carry a clear message to the citizens in Barinas managed that, despite the unjust conditions, the opposition won the governorship. “We have to do what we have done well in the past: detachment, unity, mobilization, organization, clarity of message,” he said.

He added that “the dilemma is not to vote or not to vote. We have to achieve the strengthening of unity and the unitary platform, of dialogue and the possibility of a comprehensive agreement, to face the next electoral event »

He reiterated that from the unitary platform they are still standing to reach an agreement with the official sector to solve the conflict in the country.

“Our route continues to be free elections. I will continue to denounce that there are no conditions and we saw that in the Barinas elections. To tell the truth is not to dismiss the vote but to stimulate the struggle, to mobilize ourselves for the possibility of a presidential election that they owe us, “he said.

When asked about the return to the negotiating table in Mexico, Guaidó stressed that the Unitary Platform is willing to assist with the same agreements from 2021. “The ruling party has not refused to return either, they have only made some demands. But, for us, it is vital to return to Mexico, “he said.
