With three films in the top 5 of the world’s biggest hits last year and around $4.91 billion in estimated revenue for its 24 films distributed, Universal Pictures snatches first place from Disney in the global studio rankings in 2023, according to data reported by “Variety” and “The Hollywood Reporter”. The Burbank giant, which accumulated $4.83 billion over the year, narrowly gave up the leading position it had occupied continuously since 2016.

But the success of “Fast » – 1.362 billion dollars, the second largest historical success of an animated film behind “Frozen 2” – allowed the Comcast subsidiary to make the difference.
