Vienna – The University Conference (uniko) is initially satisfied with the sum of 16 billion euros for the universities in the years 2025 to 2027 that was published in advance in the draft budget. “There are increasing signs that we are out of the woods and that a solid solution can be found,” said uniko managing president Oliver Vitouch to journalists on Monday. The downside, however, is 2024, for which there is unlikely to be anywhere near the hoped-for inflation compensation.
