DLSS 3 became exclusive to the GeForce RTX 40. Enthusiasts were able to enable the technology on older video cards, but the results were not the most encouraging. Enthusiasts managed to enable DLSS 3 frame generation in Portal Prelude RTX on a GeForce RTX 3060 video card. Under normal conditions, only RTX 40 owners use the technology. On GeForce RTX 20 and RTX 30 frame generation can be enabled using the DLSS 3 Frame Generation 1.0.1 library, this trick only works in Portal Prelude RTX. The results were not the most impressive: the game started to work worse than before activating frame generation – the image was glitchy. NVIDIA drew attention to such experiments: they explained that in fact new frames are not generated, and players see only duplication of existing frames.
