2023 might still be a historic year for dividends. In the second quarter, big companies paid the equivalent of $568 billion in dividends to their shareholders, according to asset manager Janus Henderson. A record figure, up 5% year-on-year.

The increase in shareholder remuneration is even more marked in France, with 13.3% more than in the second quarter of 2022. In Europe, it increased by almost 10% on average. In the first quarter of 2023, payments were already up 12% year on year, to $327 billion.
