Leonardo Bonucci (36) knocked down Hoffenheim’s striker Andrej Kramaric (32) with a pounce in the 21st minute and awarded a penalty. The Italian veteran also came a step too late when Maximilian Beier (20) conceded the second goal in the 38th minute.
In Bonucci’s homeland, the Berliners’ star access was harshly criticized. The “Gazzetta dello Sport” even described his Bundesliga debut as “disastrous”.
