The brand teased the phone’s launch publicly during the OnePlus 11 launch event and confirmed its launch in Q3 2023. According to a new leak, the OnePlus Open will be revealed next month, on August 29. The trusted Max Jambor also confirmed the leaked launch date in a recent tweet. The global event is expected to be held in New York. However, we still do not know when this new device will be available for sale. OnePlus Open Fold Specs (Expected) Display: 6.3-inch AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rate and another 7.8-inch AMOLED foldable display with 2K resolution and the same high refresh rate. Processor: The OnePlus Open will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. RAM and storage: The phone is expected to come with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Battery: 4800 mAh battery. Fast Charging: Support for fast wired charging up to 67W. Main camera: 48MP main + 48MP wide + 64MP triple camera setup. Front camera: The device will have a 32MP front camera sensor in the hole on the cover screen and a 20MP sensor on the inside. Programming: OxygenOS 13.1 with Android 13 is expected to run OnePlus Open. We don’t have any pricing details on the OnePlus Open yet, but that should undercut the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 that follows in the brand’s usual tradition of aggressive pricing. OnePlus unveiled its new Nord series of smartphones earlier this month and is not expected to end the phone launch cycle this year with the OnePlus Open. The OnePlus 12 is expected to make its way to the brand’s home country, China, in December with a slightly refreshed design and a periscope camera.
