Humanitarian aid sent to the Palestinians, and who can in fact passing through the hands of Hamas leaders, could have been used to build military infrastructure. This is what Alla Peodie, analyst for the French news channel LCI, put forward.

During a publication on X on October 9, Ms. Peodie shared a Hamas video showing its underground constructions used to store the rockets it uses to bomb Israel.

“It is to the financing of this type of underground concrete tunnels that the generous financial aid to Gaza also went, in particular the almost 700 million Euros annually,” said the woman who is also a specialist in the countries of the former USSR.

Agence France-Presse revealed yesterday that the European Union (EU) and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) would provide “sustainable financial support” to the Palestinians during a meeting with foreign ministers in Oman.

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrel, assured that this humanitarian aid was going to the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees.

However, doubts about the use of this humanitarian aid continue to hover in the speeches of European leaders.

The French Prime Minister, Élisabeth Borne, affirmed on Tuesday that the government must be “extremely vigilant to ensure that no euro of French aid” is given to a “terrorist organization”.

She added during a statement before the National Assembly that she “does not ignore the questions about [l’]humanitarian aid [européenne].»

She maintained, however, that “aid is paid to UN organizations on site, which act directly for access to water, food security, health or education.”

Monday, the French review The Great Continent transmitted the statement of European Commissioner Olivér Várhelyi who announced the suspension of 691 million euros of EU development aid to Palestine.

Yesterday, the EU made an about-face to resume sending funds to the Palestinians.
