DThe Eichgraben artist Brigitte Saugstad is taking part in the 77th annual exhibition of the St. Pölten Artists’ Association in the St. Pölten City Museum with a very special installation.

The installation “UP – ‘There is no where else to go but Up’” by Brigitte Saugstad consists of her “Schalen Light-Mirror 2023”. These are eight porcelain stoneware bowls that reflect the artist’s ice-skating and dancing past, in which these bowls almost float into the air with lightness and elegance.

“The passion for dance, speed and movement led me to figure skating as a child. The fascination for powerful and harmonious movements lives on in me and is the inspiration for my sculptures and installations,” says the artist.

The works are ceramic bowls that are glazed somewhat irregularly in a shiny white color and, depending on the light source and the viewer’s point of view, become instrumental mirrors of light. The exhibition in the St. Pölten City Museum, Prandtauerstraße 2 can be seen until November 18th.
