The famous actor and director Oleg Fomin shared the underside of the Russian film business. According to the celebrity, the huge budget of the picture is not a guarantee of quality. In practice, the lion’s share of funds allocated for the creation of the film ends up in the pockets of the producers. Directors, says Fomin, are usually hired “for change.”

Once Oleg Fomin was invited to shoot the second part of the film “The Best Film”. The director agreed to this adventure, as he was promised complete freedom of expression. The tape was allocated a budget of ten million dollars.

“Any whim, whatever you want, here is Garik Kharlamov, a hotel room, sit, create,” Fomin quoted the producers of the film in a fresh interview.

Fomin and Kharlamov set to work, in parallel, preparations were underway for filming. By the appointed time, the director brought all the sketches and sketches for the film to the general producers of the Comedy Club. No one showed interest in Oleg’s developments. The cinematographer was asked not to rush to submit the project. Meanwhile, the pavilion for filming had already been built, everything was ready for the start of filming. The team was waiting for the approval of the project.

“We are waiting for 20 days, the group receives a salary, we do not shoot anything. They bring the script, there is practically nothing left of what we came up with Garik, ”Fomin shared.

But Oleg Fomin’s biggest difficulties lay ahead. On the set, the director realized that there were only bosses around. There was no day without scandals. Relations were sorted out as in the dashing 90s.

“These were some brutal conflicts up to gang warfare,” said the cinematographer.

With Oleg Fomin and his team, the contract was terminated before The Best Film left for editing. The director saved $200,000 on set, but the producers didn’t appreciate the cinematographer’s practical approach. Many producers, says Fomin, do not understand how to work honestly. The director did not reveal any other details. He hinted that he “wants to live more.”
