Suspension of classes in 6 schools in Qassim

“Qassim Health” commented on the spread of the news of the viral infection among students and teachers of one of the schools in Al-Mithnab, stressing that there is nothing to worry about – God willing – and noting that “the infections are cases of colds and seasonal infections among the students and teachers of the school.”

Al-Qassim Health Department stressed, in a statement today, that the decision to suspend studies in Al-Mithnab Governorate is a discretionary decision.

The Qassim Health Department’s comment came after the Education Department in the Al-Mithnab Governorate in the Qassim region decided to suspend in-person studies in Al-Kharmama Al-Shamaliyah schools for boys and girls for a period of 3 days, starting yesterday, Tuesday, and to transfer the study to the Madrasati platform due to the spread of a viral infection among students and teachers.

According to “Urgent” sources, the Distance Education Committee received a letter from the director of the Primary Health Care Center in Al-Kharma Al-Shamaliyah yesterday, Monday, stating that a seasonal infection had spread, which called on the Director of Education in Al-Mithnab Governorate to issue a decision including the suspension of in-person studies in primary and middle schools in Al-Kharma Al-Shamaliyah for boys. And the first primary, kindergarten, intermediate, and Al-Kharmaa Al-Shamalia secondary schools for girls.

During the past weeks, the Ministry of Health has stressed the necessity of taking caution against the spread of influenza and preventing respiratory diseases, by taking the vaccine against it to prevent infection and reduce the side effects associated with the virus. She explained that the vaccine contributes significantly to reducing the number of cases, especially since influenza is an acute viral infection that spreads easily and affects all age groups, and is transmitted by inhaling droplets containing the virus or touching contaminated surfaces. The incubation period ranges on average between 2 and 4 days, and taking the vaccine Seasonal influenza every year is one of the most important ways of prevention.
