Since October 27, the Porte de Namur tunnel is closed to traffic in both directions. The reason: to allow asbestos removal from the tunnel. In this case, traffic is difficult on the Brussels inner ring road. The work will end on next Monday, November 6.
In the meantime, to regulate traffic, only one lane is available in the Trône tunnel towards Midi. In the direction of the Basilica, this is the case in the Louise tunnel.
But this is not the only tunnel in Brussels where work needs to be carried out. The Bailli and Vleugart tunnels are also impacted. During the same period until November 6, the deck of the two tunnels will be reinforced. To ensure the safety of workers during the installation of the gantries, a high voltage line must be taken out of service.
Towards the city center, Traffic will remain possible in the Bailli tunnel, either via the port towards the center, or via the port towards La Cambre.
In the direction of La Cambre, traffic will have to be diverted on the surface via rue de Livourne. The Bailli and Vleurgat tunnels will be completely closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. every night.
