Updates on the Beersel Ring Interchange Construction: Simplifying Shoulder Straps and Ensuring Safety for Motorists and Cyclists

2023-08-01 08:10:00

This Tuesday, August 8, work begins on the Ring at the Beersel interchange. The Flemish administration wants to simplify and secure the shoulder straps. In total, the work will last eight weeks, and will end in October.

The construction site is divided into different phases. Agentschap Wegen en Verkeer foresees “limited” disturbances. “At each phase, traffic will be able to pass in front of the work area and will not have to take detours.”

These arrangements are intended in particular to slow down motorists entering the Beerselsestraat. Waiting areas will also be created for motorists leaving the ring. Bike paths will also be secured.

Note that, at the request of the municipality of Beersel, the junction at the exit of the Ring via Nering will not be closed, as had been announced. In return, a securing of the Nering intersection with the Lotsestraat-Beerselsestraat is planned with a test and an evaluation at stake.
