The Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that 4 hospitals were completely out of service and 25 hospitals were partially damaged, due to the ongoing Israeli bombing of the Gaza Strip.

The director of Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in the city of Deir Al-Balah, south of the Gaza Strip, Iyad Al-Jaabari, said that the strategic stock of medicines and medical supplies has run out, due to the tight closure that Israel has imposed on the Strip since October 7.

Al-Jaabari added that the health situation is very dangerous, and the lives of thousands of patients and wounded are threatened, and there is a major shortage of medical personnel.

Al-Jaabari appealed to international and human rights bodies to intervene to force Israel to allow the entry of medical supplies and medicines into Gaza.

For his part, the director of the Kuwait Specialized Hospital in Gaza, Suhaib Al-Hams, told Al Jazeera that the Gaza Strip’s hospitals are suffering severely and the health situation is catastrophic in the eyes of the world. He warned of an imminent disaster, stressing that the health system is collapsing.

Al-Hams added that the hospital has been receiving dozens of martyrs from different areas of the Gaza Strip for hours.

He explained that medical teams deal daily with heinous Israeli massacres amid extremely scarce resources, and that the hospital shares the small remaining quantities of medicines with other hospitals.

Appeals

In turn, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, said that the health sector situation in Gaza is out of control, and loss of life is recorded for every second of delay in delivering medical aid to Gaza.

Ghebreyesus pointed out that the medical supplies sent by the World Health Organization to Gaza have been waiting at the border (on the Egyptian side) for days, and pointed out the urgent need to begin delivering medical supplies to the Strip.

Yesterday, Wednesday, Palestinian Health Minister Mai Alkaila warned of the collapse of the health sector in Gaza, as the war continues and more martyrs and wounded occur, calling on the world to work seriously and quickly to stop the war.
