Urgent: Missing 9-Year-Old Boy with Autism at IKEA in Brooklyn – Live Updates

NEW YORK — The New York City Police Department on Wednesday began a late search following a 9-year-old boy with autism was reported missing in Brooklyn.

The unidentified child was last seen at the IKEA located at 1 Beard Street. The boy was last seen in the store at approximately 8:58 p.m. wearing a black shirt, blue shorts and orange Crocs.

According to police, the boy was caught on video walking out of the store into the water located behind the IKEA store.

Authorities recovered the boy’s Croc shoes from the water.

The search for the boy continues as two NYPD divers entered the water shortly following 10 p.m.
