A tornado warning has been issued by Environment Canada in the North Bay-Powassan-Mattawa region of Ontario, very close to the border with Temiskaming.
According to the Québec En Alerte website, a violent storm raging in the area could possibly produce a tornado.
“Destroying winds, large hail and intense rain in places are also possible. This is a dangerous situation that can cause fatal injuries.”
Residents of this region are therefore invited to pay particular attention to the weather and to take shelter “immediately if a threatening meteorological phenomenon approaches”, it is added.
The alert was issued at 6:30 p.m. Friday.
